Girls Want Pearls

Excitement is b*u*b*b*l*i*n*g up in me this morning
as I anticipate a mini-adventure in the blogosphere for my readers and me.
I have designed a weekly feature inspired by a tiny timeless treasure ~ the pearl.
Starting next Monday, and every Monday for 52 weeks, I will be bringing you insights and ideas
with my series I’ve entitled Girls Want Pearls.

Fire Escape Ladder Re-Imagined

I love things that can have dual/triple purposes. Even though I cycle things in and out of my décor, as my design aesthetic changes, there are some pieces that will always remain. This fire escape ladder is one of those things.
I found it at Round Top, TX flea market a couple of years ago while I was a vendor there.
I love its slim line, its natural chalky, zinc-y patina, its weightiness and its history.
I also like the fact that it can be used in more than one way.
Here it is as I have it now, above, in my kitchen holding pretty magazines.

And here it is being super functional as a necklace rack. Could also hold bracelets and belts.
Wouldn’t it be fab holding linens in the bathroom, kitchen or guest room?
Yep, it’s a keeper for me. I know I will never grow tired of it.

One more thing…I’m getting ready to launch a weekly feature here on my blog. It’s something near and dear to my girly heart. I hope you’ll come back and see my next post to learn more!
