Swap & Tell Linky Party #12

Welcome to Swap & Tell #12!
A link up for shop owners trading products and posting reviews!

This link up is all about helping one another get exposure for our products and services.

Word of mouth advertising = traffic = sales!

We all know that advertising can be very expensive, so my co-host and I are so very happy to be offering shop owners a way to get your name out there to new audiences for the cost of a trade, while helping fellow shop owners in the process. And now if you have a blog or Facebook, but no product to swap, you can link up to receive products and post reviews.

Speaking of co-hosts, I am pleased to be joined by Heather at Woods of Bell Trees . Heather has a unique and fun blog and personality, with a growing following. Be sure to pay her a visit! Your link will show on both blogs simultaneously, meaning more opportunities!

If you are just now finding out about Swap & Tell, you can read more about it here.

And now, on to the swap, but first, please read the rules:

Thrifted! Velvet Frames, Lace and Jewels

Gosh, it’s been a while since I’ve posted much or visited my favorite blogs. It’s been a little chaotic over here, with just life. Hopefully things are settling down a little now and I’ll be around more. I’ve missed you! I would love to show you some of the things I found on a recent flea market excursion.

lace_basket_velvet_frames
I am crazy for old velvet, so when I saw these very old frames on the $1 table at the flea market it was love. You can tell how worn and faded they are, that’s why I love ‘em.

lace_basket
Rarely do I hit the market without picking up some sort of lace. Isn’t this basket sweet?

And no junking day would be complete without a stash of junk jewelry.

I am so excited to be gearing up for a great and big show in Des Moines this November. Junk Jubilee Jingles will be held November 14, 15 and 16 at the Iowa State Fair Grounds. Have you heard of it? It’s worth the trip, with quality vendors of all sorts, great shopping for yourself or holiday gift buying and fantastic displays to inspire. Some of the jewels, buttons, buckles and bow in the above pic will make their appearance at the show once they are fashioned into wearable art. I’ll be talking a lot about the show between now and then. If you live anywhere near I hope you make plans to come and shop!

Scene Stealing Emerald Green

Fall is just around the corner and that means a fresh color palette for dressing and decorating. Trends will be changing but one thing is for sure ~ there will be lots of rich color!

Today I would like to present you with a piece of jewelry I designed in the beautiful shade of emerald green.
emeraldgreen2
These pictures were shot during the winter, but can you just picture the necklace with the rich rusts of fall? Or even eggplant or teal? Then it can easily transition into holiday party attire.

emeraldgreen1
This necklace is what I’m offering at Swap & Tell this week. Drawer hardware embellished with a vintage brooch piece with emerald green stones and pearls. Antique gold finish chain is approx. 16 inches.

Yep, this plus other fabulous offerings from my co-hosts and participants can be yours in exchange for your product or service at Swap & Tell!

Please excuse my scowl!

The linky party goes live tonight at 7 PM central.

I hope you’ll come back and link up!

In The Studio: Jewelry ~ Simple or Ornate?

Hey Fashionable Friends! Just popping in with a quick post today to share what’s been happening in my jewelry design studio. I’m busy making and stocking up lots of jewelry to take to a big show in November, more about that in a later post!

I’ve been concentrating on necklaces and earrings, and will soon move my attention to bracelets. Oh how I love to wear bracelets! Well, I love wearing necklaces too, and almost always wear earrings, but there’s something about bracelets that make me feel super feminine and stylish. So as soon as I get some new ones made, you can bet I’ll show them to you right here! In the meantime, here are some necklaces, with a question to ponder…

big_red_button_2

Do you prefer to wear necklaces that are simple…

big_red_button2

Or do you prefer to make a statement with something more ornate…

Of course, different kinds of outfits are suited to different looks, but in general, do you lean towards understated or elaborate in your jewelry choices? Or somewhere in between?

You can shop for both necklaces here Big Red Button Necklace and here 3 Tier Hardware Necklace.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July, and be sure to flaunt your red, white and blue!

Talk soon,
 Ann
