Fire Escape Ladder Re-Imagined

I love things that can have dual/triple purposes. Even though I cycle things in and out of my décor, as my design aesthetic changes, there are some pieces that will always remain. This fire escape ladder is one of those things.
I found it at Round Top, TX flea market a couple of years ago while I was a vendor there.
I love its slim line, its natural chalky, zinc-y patina, its weightiness and its history.
I also like the fact that it can be used in more than one way.
Here it is as I have it now, above, in my kitchen holding pretty magazines.

And here it is being super functional as a necklace rack. Could also hold bracelets and belts.
Wouldn’t it be fab holding linens in the bathroom, kitchen or guest room?
Yep, it’s a keeper for me. I know I will never grow tired of it.

One more thing…I’m getting ready to launch a weekly feature here on my blog. It’s something near and dear to my girly heart. I hope you’ll come back and see my next post to learn more!

  1. Love both of the ladders. How fun is that. It definitely holds the magazine so you can see which one you would like to read and the necklaces start to look like art hung from the ladder. Love this idea. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty

  2. This is a great idea! Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment about my paper flowers. I don’t know if you realize your comments are set to no follow? No one can respond to your comments. I tracked you down through G+. I’m now following your lovely blog via G+ and Facebook. Have a wonderful weekend!

    Hugs,
    Deborah

    1. No, I absolutely did not know my comments were set that way. Thank you so much for letting me know. Now if I can figure out how to fix that I’ll be set. Hugs to you!
